Board Structure

Africapaciti is a registered company in the Republic of Zimbabwe with other registered entities in South Africa, Nigeria and Tanzania and complies to the respective company registrar’s requirements of the appointment of directors at the registered company oce and furthermore adheres to corporate governance practices that require the appointment of nonexecutive directors to the Board and the appointment of Board members.

Africapaciti has up to two (2) executive directors who sit on the subsidiary Boards and up to four (4) non-executive directors mainly Country Technical Partners and Shareholders. The board therefore has a mix of executive and non-executive directors. The Chairman of the board is appointed by the major shareholders of the Africapaciti Investment Group.

Board Responsibilities

The Group Board is the custodian of our corporate governance framework and it is responsible for ensuring that the group is operating and managed along sound corporate governance principles, by enforcing key governance and reporting policies and ensuring that the obligations to shareholders and other stakeholders are met. The Africapaciti Board is also responsible for adopting strategic plans and through the monitoring of operational performance, provides management with eective leadership in line with the company’s ethical values whilst understanding that strategy, risk, performance and sustainability are inseparable.

Board Committees

A number of board committees assist the board in fulfilling its stated objectives. The role and responsibilities of each committee are set out in their formal terms of reference and herein enlisted as follows;

Engineer Tafadzwa Muguti is a Certified Engineer with the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers as a Technologist and the current Secretary for Presidential Affairs and Devolution in the Office of the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe. He previously served as the Secretary of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Harare Metropolitan Province in the Office of the President and Cabinet in the Republic of Zimbabwe.

Before answering the call to help rebuild the Zimbabwean economy, Tafadzwa previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Africapaciti in South Africa before relocating to Zimbabwe. He also previously served as the Executive Head for Africa Region for Cognosec AB, an international Governance, Risk and Compliance company based in Sweden and which was at the time listed on the NASDAQ First North Exchange with operations in Austria, United Kingdom, UAE, Kenya and South Africa. He started his career at an early age in the information technology sector before becoming an entrepreneur at the age of 21 after qualifying as a Micro Computer Technology Engineer with City and Guilds in the United Kingdom.

Tafadzwa is best recognised for having started one of Southern Africa’s (outside South Africa) first black owned IT Security and Risk Management businesses called E-Secure in 2002. It is inspiring to note that in 2007 the Department of Communications in South Africa and Forge Ahead honoured him with the African Achievers Top ICT SMME Finalist, an accolade he also attained the following year in 2008, making him the First ever Zimbabwe African Achiever Finalist.

In 2010 the Government of Zimbabwe through the Ministry of Information Communication Technology honoured Eng. Muguti with the inaugural Continental Excellence Award in ICT. His experiences in dealing with investors and investment promotion authorities during the recession period of 2009 and 2010 inspired him in to start Africapaciti in South Africa as a conceptualisation and investment promotion business in 2011. The business went on to assist several African Governments and SMMEs in developing key investment opportunities from conceptualisation to bankability. Besides being a Technologist he is also a Certified Banking and Risk expert after successfully studying Banking and Risk Management with the University of South Africa (UNISA) amongst many other academic and professional qualifications.

Murray offers administrative and technical skills alongside an ability, born of his varied experience in Africa, to fully understand the strategic perspectives that characterise the Continent’s Agricultural and Agri-developmental initiatives.

Murray’s competency is widely ranged, having spent over 40 years in agriculture; he was, and still is involved in the production of and consultation for specialist and non-specialist fresh produce, soft fruit and vegetables. From his experience operating in a developmental context, Murray developed practical methods to improve skill levels and quality through intensive training which he devised and which involved a systematic benchmarking approach. 

Murray has significant knowledge of Quality Assurance Systems for food safety/hygiene having gained accreditations for EuropGAP, HACCP, BRC and ethical audits carried out by client companies.

Duduzile Shinya, is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, FCA(Z) holds a Masters’ in business Leadership from the UNISA Graduate School of Business Leadership. Dudu has experience and leadership in accounting, financial and business strategy, with a career spanning over twenty five years, having started her career as an Articled Clerk at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Duduzile has held various senior roles including Chief Business Development Officer and Acting CEO at the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA), where she also spent a year in the role of Acting CEO of the Agency. She has held various financial leadership positions including Schweppes Holdings Africa Limited, Amalgamated Brands and Medical Investments Limited where she was the Group Financial Director. Duduzile is a past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAZ) and is currently an independent non-executive director on the Hippo Valley Estates Board, CABS Zimbabwe, Innscor Africa Limited as well as the Zimbabwe Foreign Services Institute Boards.


Duduzile has also help directorships at a regional level, having been a director of Mobility for Africa, as well as being the Vice Chairperson of the COMESA Regional Investment Agency (COMESA RIA). She brings a wealth of experience in the financial management and strategic management to the group board.

Sandra Mabika is a seasoned banking professional with over 20 years of experience, having held various senior managerial positions in both international and local banks. She played a pivotal role in the successful roll out of all ten (10) Trust bank Branches in Zimbabwe, demonstrating her exceptional project management capabilities. Sandra possesses strong financial analytic skills with a passion for investments, structured financing and optimization of resources for cost effective implementation of business objectives and programmes.Sandra’s expertise lies in setting up economic and efficient management systems that align with strategic goals.
Sandra holds an MBA from Africa University, Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of Zimbabwe and Certificates in Project Management. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) program with a local University.

Benson Philip Hlungupi Samudzimu is a Chairman and Director for several companies and has over 38 years extensive experience in Business Leadership and Strategy Formulation, Business Development and executive oversight for listed and unlisted companies in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods space, Manufacturing, Mining, Retail, and Farming.

Currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration, he holds an MSc from University College Cork, Ireland, and HND from Harper Adams University, United Kingdom.

Yvonne Sibongile Masimo is a seasoned governance and administrative professional with over 25 years of experience in international development, economic policy coordination, and diplomacy. She holds a Master’s in Public Policy and Governance and a Bachelor’s in Management and Entrepreneurial Development Studies.

She launched her career at the World Bank and spent two decades at MEFMI, where she organized high-level regional workshops and built expertise in institutional capacity building and stakeholder engagement. Currently at the Embassy of Sweden in Harare, she supports the Ambassador in diplomatic protocol, strategic engagement, and administration. She is an alumnus of the Sharpe Business Academy, where she specialized in sustainable business development and ethical leadership

Yvonne brings strategic insight in multilateral coordination, women’s empowerment, and inclusive, sustainable growth.

Advocate Blessing Diza is an esteemed legal practitioner and Managing Partner at Diza Attorneys, bringing over 16 years of comprehensive experience and a distinguished record of achievement to his practice. A graduate of the University of Zimbabwe with a Bachelor of Laws degree, he has consistently delivered exceptional legal representation to a diverse clientele, encompassing both Zimbabwean and international entities. Beyond his accomplished standing as a Legal Practitioner, Blessing’s certifications as a Conveyancer and Notary Public further underscore his expansive proficiency in navigating intricate legal frameworks, enabling him to address a broad spectrum of legal matters with unparalleled precision and authority. His profound knowledge spans several critical areas of law, and his unwavering commitment to his clients is reflected evidenced by a consistent history of securing favourable outcomes in both lower courts and superior courts.

Blessing currently serves on the Africapaciti Group Board of Directors as a Non-Executive Director as well as other top companies in Zimbabwe namely, Southern Business Services Pvt Ltd, Tatu Capital Pvt Ltd, Dominican Convent Harare and the City of Harare’s SME’s Micro-Finance Company.
